The seminar “Waters of Armenia” took place at Elite Plaza business center on November 3, 2016. It was conducted by Tigran Shahbazyan, a founder of Armenian Geographic Project and a board member of Armenian Hiking and Mountaineering Federation.
The main goal of the seminar was to inform people about the location and boundaries of the Armenian Highland and to present its hydrographical monuments.
During the seminar we spoke about the connection between the waters of Armenia and the modern civilization. The rivers, lakes and waterfalls of Armenia have a great tourism potential, but still we have a problem of popularization. Also we talked about the prospects of the development of water tourism in Armenia.
In the second part of the seminar we watched the film “Katilners” directed by Ani Eghiazaryan.
November 3 is the victory day in the struggle for Trchkan waterfall. 5 years ago on this day the construction of the hydroelectric station was terminated, because of which the existence of the largest waterfall in Armenia should have been threatened. The film was about the struggle for Trchkan waterfall.
