The Voghjaberd Mountain Range is located in Kotayk Province and forms a western branch of the Geghama Mountain Range. The Voghjaberd mountains begin with the summit of Mount Voghjaberd and extends southwest to Mount Lerkasar, from where it angles to the north. From Mount Vranategh, it turns southwest until it reaches the valley of the Mushaghbyur River. The range serves as a watershed between the Jrvezh and Voghjaberd rivers. The northwestern slopes of the range are covered in woods and forest.
Mount Voghjaberd
The peak of Mount Voghjaberd, the highest peak in the range, stands a mere two kilometers to the north-west of Goose Lake and 4 km northwest of the village of Geghard. The slopes of the mountain are rocky, broken up in places by ridges and gullies, and largely covered with grass and other meadow vegetation.
