In this article we will provide you with information about 6 summits of Lake Van. Lake Van is surrounded from all sides by 6 historical mountains – Sipan (4058 m), Varag (3200 m), Artos (3550 m), Endzakisar (3074 m), Grgur (2478 m) and Nemrut (2935 m).
Initially this project was called “4 summits of Lake Van”. But after winter ascents to Endzakisar and Grgur the name of the project changed to “Tsovu Bolor” (Around the sea). In the middle ages, the areas around Lake Van, which were the provinces of Turuberan and Vaspurakan, had a common name Tsovu Bolor.
It took us several years to climb the summits of Lake Van. Each ascent was one separate journey, with its own history and warm memories. Thanks to these ascents we saw Lake Van from all sides. Enjoyed Van’s most beautiful sunsets and sunrises. Met people living near Lake Van. Heard many interesting stories.
By the way, an important fact is that over the past 100 years we were the first Armenians to step on the top of the historical mountains Artos, Varag, Endzakisar and Grgur.
Guided by our experience in mountain climbing, we divided this project into several parts, and we suggest you to see the mountains of Lake Van, too. Now everyone has the opportunity to climb the top of the mountains of Lake Van.
