The Syunik Highland, in Syunik Province, occupies an area situated between the Vorotan, Aghavno and Tartar rivers at an altitude of between 1,000 and 3,100 meters above sea level. The distinct volcanic peaks of Trasar, Tsghuk and Ishkhanasar stand out against this flat landscape (the highest peak is Trasar at 3,594 m) and there are several lakes here also.
