Born in 1984 in Yerevan, geographer Tigran Varag developed a passion for nature, photography, travel and adventure as a child and later managed to turn this passion into an exciting and varied career. He has established Armenian Geographic in 2012.
- He has organized and led over 1000 hiking and mountain climbing tours and events
- Author of the book “Mountains of Armenia”
- A board member of Armenian Mountaineering and Mountain Tourism Federation
- He has participated in International Mountaineering Conference in Moscow as a representative of Armenia
- He has participated in International Mountaineering Festival in Iran, during which he took courses of ice climbing with UIAA experts
- Within the framework of the project “Ours” he has climbed the highest peaks of all mountain ranges of Armenia
- Outstanding ascents undertaken outside of Armenia – Ararat (5165m), Qajkar (3932m), Sipan (4058m), Elbrus (5642m), Kazbek (5047m), a winter ascent of Hezar (4501m) and a winter ascent of Kaputkogh Mountain (3074), Sabalan (4811 m) and Damavand (5610 m)
- Within the framework of the project “Tsovu Bolor” he organized ascents to all the mountains surrounding Lake Van
Tigran Varag climbed the highest peaks of all the mountain ranges in Armenia. He also passed through the deepest canyons and entered the deepest caves. He is sure that Armenia is a land of endless discoveries and one life is not enough to know it completely. Now he shares his knowledge and experience with the members of the group every time discovering Armenia in a new way.
His new book about mountains of Armenian Highland is going to be published in the near future.
