Mount Spitakasar is a dome-shaped volcanic massif composed of liparite, quartz and perlite that stands at 3,555 m and is the second tallest summit in the Geghama Mountains after Azhdahak. The mountain’s name derives from the word spitak (Armenian for “white”), which refers to the mountain’s limestone, perlite and other white mineral elements, with the mountain’s full name translating as “White Mountain”.
