With our one-day wine tour, you’ll have the chance to explore the rich history of Armenian winemaking and savor a wide array of exceptional wines.
At 10:30 we will drive to village Sasunik where we are going to visit Armenia Wine Factory. There we will have a guided tour and degustation which includes 3 types of wine served with cheese and meat plate.
Agarak / Archeological Site
After a guided tour and degustation, we are going to drive to the archaeological site of Agarak dated back to the III millennium B.C. Here we are going to see traces of ancient viticulture proved by the existence of an Early bronze age wine-press.
Golden Grape ArmAs
Then we are going to drive to Golden Grape ArmAs winery where you will also see the vineyard from where they harvest the grape for the wine production. After getting familiar with the exciting history of this place and sampling their wine (Selection of 3 premium wines and cheese platter) we will have lunch.
Afterwards we will see the last historical wine-press in Zvartnots temple which is a masterpiece in Armenian architecture. The cathedral is dated back to the 7th century. You can’t see the cathedral standing there but only the ruins of it.
