The Northern summit of Mount Aragats (4090 m) is the highest point of Armenia and the fourth highest one of the Armenian Highland. It is an extinct four-peaked volcano located between Ararat and Shirak valleys and surrounded by Kasagh river on the east and Akhurian river on the west.
We will pick you up from your hotel and move to Lake Kari, which is located on the southern slopes of Mount Aragats, at an altitude of 3200 meters above sea level. From Lake Kari we will start our ascent to the Northern summit.
Hiking period for Aragats is very short – from July to September (sometimes even mid October), so if you plan to hike up Mount Aragats, make sure to do that at the right season. Please note that the route is difficult and the hiking tour is not intended for beginners. Hiking experience is important if you want to reach the top.
Also it is important to have warm clothes with you, as even during summer months it can be pretty chilly at such altitude.
After the summit we will go down to Lake Kari and return to Yerevan.
