Thousands of years ago people left their mark on the stones with dark burned surface. The native people left on these dark stones a big variety of petroglyphs depicting their work, rituals, hunting scenes, compositions of their ideas about celestial objects. These petroglyphs reflect the material and spiritual life of people who lived in that era. They are an important historical source and provide rich material for the study of the life, worship, customs and art of the inhabitants of the Armenian Highland.
