Mount Maruta is located in Sasun province of Armenian Highland. It used to be the most loved and worshiped mountain among the people of Sasun. The mountain was also called Maratuk. On the top of the mountain, at an altitude of 2967 m, the Surb Astvatsatsin Monastery was built.
On June 1, 2018, we climbed Mount Maratuk. Below you can see a video and photos from our ascent.
