Lake Kari (Stone) is located in the Aragatsotn region on Mount Aragats. Its area is 0.3 km², and depth is 9 m. It’s a mountain lake at an altitude of 3200 m above sea level which is fed by melting glaciers. The Arkashen River originates from Lake Kari.
On the southern shore of the lake there is a research station founded in 1942 by the Alikhanyan brothers.
The southern outlet of lake was closed to supply the station with water and as the result the water level increased. Now the station is supplied with water from the lake throughout the year.
