Lake Akna is on the border Gegharkunik and Kotayk regions, in the central part of the Geghama Mountains at an altitude of 3032 m. The area of the lake is 0.8 km², depth is 15 m. The lake is fed by melt and spring water.
Lake Akna was included in the list of State Natural monuments in 2008.
Lake Akna is surrounded by picturesque alpine meadows, as well as the peaks of the Geghama ridge (Aknasar, Narine, Shushan, Shamprasar). The water in the lake is clean and fresh. In clear weather, the majestic mountains and blue sky are reflected in the lake surface as if in a mirror.
