In 2020, the ArmGeo Kids’ Club was launched, within the framework of which we organized a kids camp with tents on the shore of Lake Sevan.
Kids camp
The purpose of the camping is to prepare young hikers for hiking life and life in nature. The success of the kids’ hikes and positive feedback also helped us to implement this program.
How did the camps go?
The participants in the campgrounds were children aged 7-14 years. Both camps were led by Karen Sargsyan, who also leads the hikes of the ArmGeo kids’ club. Karen is a coach-educator with many years of experience working with children.
Kids’ camp
The five-day camp program was very interesting and productive. Hiking was an important part of the day. We either climbed Mount Artanish or hiked around the mountain. In addition to hiking, we organized swimming lessons in Lake Sevan. These lessons were also conducted by Karen Sargsyan, who is a swimming coach.
Kids’ camp
For many children, this was the most enjoyable part of the day. In addition to swimming, Coach Karen also gave theoretical lessons on sup-boarding, and then taught the children to stand on sup and ride it. In the camps, we also organized many sports team games, during which children learned to be part of a team, to help each other, to achieve success together.
Kids’ camp
We also took short walks with children, during which we explored the surroundings of Sevan and discovered many interesting features of this area. In the evening, everyone gathered around the campfire, summed up the day, shared interesting stories and went to sleep in tents.
Kids’ camp
Results
Our camps have shown that children adapt to hiking life very easily and with pleasure, and the communication with nature makes them even more mature and conscious.
Kids’ camp
During our camps, kids gained many vivid impressions, new and significant experiences and unforgettable memories. Thanks to these camps, the ArmGeo Kids’ Club gained new members.
