In 2023, we’ll climb one of the highest and most beautiful volcanoes of the Caucasus mountains, Mount Kazbek (5047 m), situated between Georgia and Russia.

Duration: 5 days
We’ll perform a climb to Mount Kazbek from Georgia. All heavy staff will be carried by horses.
All participants must have hiking experience.
How to Prepare for Climbing Mount Kazbek
Day climbing program:
Day 1: Yerevan – Stepantsminda
Early in the morning, we’ll move from Yerevan to the village of Stepantsminda.
On our way, we’ll have a stop in Tbilisi. In the evening, we will already be in Stepantsminda and stay in a guesthouse.
Day 2: Stepantsminda – Tsminda Sameba – Meteo station
In the morning, we’ll move to Tsminda Sameba monastery, at a height of 2200 meters, by off-road vehicles. From the monastery, we’ll start our ascent to the Meteo station, at a height of 3700 meters. We’ll walk in light backpacks. Heavy staff will be carried by horses.
Overnight in the Meteo station.
Day 3: Acclimatization day
We’ll have an acclimatization climb of 500 meters, and down back to the Meteo station.
After resting, we’ll start our ascent to the top of Mount Kazbek at night.
Day 4: On the top of Mount Kazbek (5047 m)
At 2 am, we’ll start our ascent which will last around 11 hours. After reaching the summit, we’ll walk down to Tsminda Sameba monastery.
All heavy staff will be carried by horses, and we’ll walk down with our light backpacks. From the monastery, we’ll go down to the village of Stepantsminda by off-road vehicles.
Day 5: Yerevan
In the morning, we’ll move to Yerevan.
Due to bad weather conditions, we’ll need an additional overnight on the mountain.
The group consists of 3 participants and 2 guides.

Participants should have:
- Ice axe
- Crampons
- Climbing belt

Before climbing Mount Kazbek, we’ll have an ascent to the Northern summit of Mount Aragats. Only the participants, who could handle it, will join the climbing to Mount Kazbek.
