What’s your profession? What do you do?
Coach, pedagogue.
When and how did you decide to take part in a hiking trip for the first time? What did you feel being out of your comfort zone for the first time?
I always wanted to celebrate Armenia’s Independence Day (Sep 21) on top of a mountain. Mount Azhdahak attracted me with its majesty and beauty, but it always seemed unattainable to me. One day I saw ArmGeo‘s event on Facebook, “On September 21 we will climb Mount Azhdahak”. My heart was pounding with happiness. I immediately called and joined them. I think that in the city my inner hiker was more out of his comfort zone. So I am lucky that my comfort zone is nature and mountains.
Why do you climb mountains, what do they give you?
This is a question you can think about for a long time before answering, and still not give a final answer. Or simply – freedom, eagle soaring, power.
Do you have a desire to climb higher mountains?
Sure. Although, for me Armenian mountains are higher than 8848.
What was your most memorable hiking trip and what made it special?
The most memorable ones are overnight hiking trips in Artsakh. They were unforgettable and unique.
What advice do you have for those who want to start to go hiking but don’t dare to do that?
In general, if you want to do something, do it. It will fill and enrich your life. I would advice everyone to go hiking without hesitation. Right next Sunday, just take your backpack and go discover your country, be closer to nature.
