Mount Gutanasar is an extinct volcano located in the western part of the Geghama Mountains that rises 400 m from its surrounding terrain to an altitude of 2,299 m above sea level. Gutanasar’s crater is largely composed of Pliocene lava and ash, although there is also perlite and pumice here. Mount Gutanasar is covered with steppe vegetation on the lower slopes and alpine meadow vegetation in its upper regions.
