We swerved from our traditional trail that is Bayazet – Igdir -Kars and went up to the mountains. The lake is located an altitude of 2247 m above sea level in inter- mountainous concavity. The water is sweet and reach with fish.
Among the biggest lakes of the Armenian Highland Gaylatu is the highest one. Now lake Gaylatu is called Balyk gyol.
Gaylatu lake
On the lake we could see fishermen’s boats. Some mowers were cutting the grass. We met a family from Igdir that came to have some rest on the shore of Gaylatu lake. They invited us to drink tea from samovar.
Mount Bardogh
After a short rest at the shore of the lake we continued our way to the village Koghb. We passed Haykakan Par mountain range from north to south. On our way we admired the beautiful scenery of mount Bardogh, which was really fascinating from that side.
