Composition of Population

Republic of Armenia is the most homogeneous country by its composition of population in the region. Till 1979-1980 the second  nation  by its amount in Armenia were Azerbaijanis(155.000), the third – Russians(77.000), the forth  – Yezidis (52.000). Now Yezidis are the second, the amount of Russians decreased to 40.000, and there are no more Azerbaijanis. There are also minorities of Ukrainians, Assyrians, Greeks, Iranians and Jews.

In different age groups the ratio of the amount of men and women in population is different.  In the group up to 16-17 male representatives are more, in the group of 18-24 the amount of male and female is equal, in the group 25 and above, the representatives of female are more.
