Ararat is one of the most important symbols of Armenia. In the first half of September 2022 you will have an opportunity to participate in an ascent by joining our six-day Mount Ararat trip. As a part of the tour, we will climb the biblical mountain Ararat and get acquainted with many historical sights.
Dates:
06-12.09.2022
Day 1: Yerevan – Bayazet
We start our tour at 4 am from Yerevan. We will drive to the Armenian – Georgian border, after crossing the Bavra checkpoint we’ll drive to the Georgian – Turkish border and continue to Dogubayazit. Overnight in a hotel.
Day 2: First Camp / 3200m
From the hotel we will approach the mountain by bus. It will take us till 2200 meters from where we will start the ascent to the first camp located on 3200 meters. The hike will take approximately 4-5 hours till the first base camp. All the heavy stuff will be carried by horses. Overnight in tents.
Day 3: Acclimatization day
On this day we will wake up in the morning, have breakfast and start our acclimatization climb to the 3800 meters, spend some time on that altitude and return to camp 2 on 3200 meters. We will have some rest, enjoy our free time and prepare for the next day’s ascent.
Day 4: Second Camp / 4200m
On the next day we will start our ascent form the first base camp (3200m) to the secondone on 4200m. The duration of the hike will be from 4 to 5 hours. All the heavy stuff will be carried by horses.
On this day we will go to sleep early in the evening to prepare ourselves for the most important and difficult ascent of the trip – the summit push.
Overnight in tents.
Day 5: The summit of the mountain Ararat / 5165m
At night, approximately at 1 am, we we will start our ascent to the top of the mountain (6-7 hours).
If the weather is good and there is no strong wind we can spend there from 30 mins to 1 hour. After the climb we’ll return to the second base camp at 4200m, pack our bags, have some rest and descend to the first camp on 3200m, where we will have dinner and an overnight sleep.
Day 6: Returning to Bayazet
After the breakfast we will descend to 2200 meters from where the minibus will take us to Bayazet. On the second half of the day we will drive to the Ishak Pasha palace and the Daroink fortress. In the evening we will celebrate our ascent altogether. Overnight in a hotel in Bayazet.
Day 7: Bayazet – Yerevan
After breakfast we will drive to the border and return to Yerevan.
